What is the Arizona Adolescent Health
Coalition?
The Arizona Adolescent
Health Coalition (AAHC) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation whose vision is that all Arizona adolescents will have a healthy and successful transition into adulthood.
The mission of the AAHC is to promote the education of individuals who interact with adolescents and improve their understanding, appreciation and ability to support the well-being of adolescents in Arizona.
The Arizona Adolescent Health
Coalition provides the community with the opportunity to learn more about prevention, risk reduction, and early intervention activities which improve the educational, vocational, health and behavioral outcomes for adolescents. The AAHC offers professional networking meetings on current topics relative to adolescent health (such as dating violence, self-injury, and suicide) and hosts an annual statewide conference that focuses exclusively on adolescent health. AAHC also provides professionals, volunteers and parents with training and educational opportunities on adolescent development and communicating with teens.

Philosophy
AAHC believes that adolescents are valuable people who contribute creativity, energy and idealism to any endeavor. Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood marked by rapid and profound physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. Adolescents are individuals who merit comprehensive attention to their development by the adults who surround them.
